Turtle Island Coffee is Indigenous owned and operated, founded by Muskwasis (David Cardinal).

His connection to his roots is reflected in the company’s name, "Turtle Island," a term used by some Indigenous peoples to refer to North America. This connection extends to the brand's commitment to environmental stewardship and respect for nature. David's vision for Turtle Island Coffee includes not only producing exceptional coffee but also promoting Indigenous culture and supporting the communities involved in its production.

Honouring Indigenous Heritage with Every Cup.

Turtle Island’s concept revolves around the 4 teachings of the medicine wheel, those being spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional. Muskwasis’ roasting reflects this as Turtle Island offers 4 seperate single origin roasts, with each package showcasing the incredible artworks of a different Indigenous artist.

Bada Jean’s bear represents courage, Sihlgyang’s raven represents reflection, Victor Newman’s sun represents empowerment, while Waabigwan Giizis Kwe’s buffalo represents respect.

Muskwasis has taken the time to carefully curate a brand that honours the incredibly beautiful and diverse palatte of Indigenous cultures that exist here on Turtle Island.
